Décor

More than once we’ve heard guests remark that on each visit to Buvette, they discover some charming new detail of the space. Chef Jody collected much of the décor over years of travel – the row of antique mirrors hanging over the bar; the heirloom kitchen tools (wood-handled rocking knives, fluted pastry cutters, vintage rolling pins); the antlers above the gastro station; the stuffed pheasant and rooster in the windows (an homage to the old practice of keeping birds from flying into glass). Notice details like how the figures in the antique plates on display inspired the design of the boy with the basket on the cover of our wine list. Beyond aesthetics, many of these keepsakes are crucial to service, from the silver trays carrying food and drinks, to the baskets of citrus and napkins, to the tea pots and tongs behind the bar.
