Domaine Tempier

We are exceptionally lucky to pour Domaine Tempier Rosé at Buvette – widely celebrated as the finest rosé in the world. The Peyraud family not only championed Bandol receiving its AOC designation in 1941, they also fought to restore the near-forgotten Mourvèdre grape to its former glory. (The rosé is made of 55% Mourvèdre, with the rest split between Grenache and Cinsault.) All grapes are harvested by hand and aged half in stainless steel and half in concrete for 7 months. This iconic rosé is perfect for afternoon sipping or – because of the heft afforded by Mourvèdre – complementing a meal. While versatile beyond these suggestions, the Tempier Rosé pairs beautifully with brandade de morue, tartine anchoiade, artichauts, and Great Hill blue.
